Andrew Witherup, the Formby Golf Club professional prides himself on providing
a friendly and first class service to both members and visitors. Andy boasts a strong coaching background having worked with some of the top professionals and amateurs
in the game.

The Pro Shop Team

Two assistants, Matthew Duncalf and Matthew Harrison make up the Pro Shop team. Matthew Duncalf is a fully qualified professional in his own right having recently finished
his PGA Foundation Degree.  Matthew Harrison is also fully committed to the career path having just begun his qualifications with the PGA and is currently in his first year.

Lessons and Coaching

Andrew Witherup and his team offer a broad scope of tuition which is suited to all ages and abilities. Tuition can be personalised to meet an individual's needs or taken as a group.  Golf tuition is available seven days a week and covers all aspects of the game.

On course tuition is also available helping players to develop individual strategies on shot selection, club selection and course management techniques which can help improve their overall game.

Finally, Andrew's Professional Team is also proud to offer a state of the art indoor coaching facility with the use of GASP LAB.  This facility uses video analysis to focus on specific areas of a player's technique.  The technology allows them to record, analyse and evaluate a golfer's swing.  This powerful visualisation capability can help the golfer to relate better to their swing and those aspects of the swing which they are looking to improve.


Custom Fitting / Repairs

The Professional Team has adopted the highly regarded VECTOR LAUNCH MONITOR as their comprehensive custom fitting service toolset.  This allows the Professional Team to analyse Ball Spin and Launch Angles created by players when they hit shots, and use the information to make better informed decisions when recommending clubs that will suit a player's individual swing characteristics and playing style.

The Pro Shop at Formby Golf Club has a very welcoming atmosphere and offers equipment, clothing and accessories from the forefront of the golf industry for men, ladies and juniors.

The shop has a wide range of ladies' clothing, stocking brands such as Galvin Green, Daily, Nike and Ecco and Footjoy.
