COVID-19 IMPORTANT NOTICE
Golf Clubs (COVID-19) Updates
Last guidance update: Tuesday 24 March, 10:00
Golf clubs, courses and facilities are now closed.
Keeping golf courses open is simply no longer compatible with the updated policy of government which is designed to save lives in a time of national emergency. Read the full statement on golf course closures here.
We would like to assure the golfing community that England Golf staff will continue to work remotely with all affiliated golfers, clubs and counties to try and minimise the damage caused by this suspension of regular golf club life.
We will continue to signpost clubs and counties to the latest government advice and schemes designed to help the economy cope with the disruption caused by coronavirus.
Business support and guidelines
In order to provide clarification for golf clubs following on from the Prime Minister’s statement of 23 March, we are able to inform you of the following:
For security and essential maintenance purposes, greenkeeping staff can still attend work.
All work must be carried out in strict accordance with government guidelines on social distancing.
And the good news....
It has been a very busy winter at Formby Ladies Golf Club with our fantastic green keeping team led by Rob Sandilands carrying out improvements to the course . These include the planning and installation of a horizontal well system to improve irrigation and tree work to enhance the natural links character of the course. There are plans for continual improvements during 2020 and beyond to what is already unique and challenging course.
The course is already in great shape and ready for a wonderful season once play can resume. You are very welcome to play Formby Ladies Golf Club and if you book ahead tee times are also available on a Saturday, enabling you to maximise your golfing experience along England’s Golf Coast.
Come and see first-hand what an amazing and challenging course we have at Formby Ladies Golf Club one of England’s top 100 courses.
